Overview & principles

Explain first: Visuals are annotated with units, basis, and time span.
Source-linked: Each widget references the underlying dataset where feasible.
Deterministic: Calculations are simple, documented, and reproducible.
Graceful degradation: If a source stalls, we show last good value with a staleness badge.

Indices

Live NIFTY/Sensex snapshots with breadth (adv/decl/unch), sector deltas, and intraday range.

Calc: %Δ = (Last − PrevClose) / PrevClose.

Sector Heatmap

Market-cap weighted move by NSE industry; hover for top movers & weights.

Calc: Sector return = Σ(weightᵢ × returnᵢ).

Commodities

Spot/futures for Brent, Gold, Silver, Copper; INR where relevant with FX baseline.

Calc: INR series = USD × USDINR last.

Calendars & Trackers

Earnings, IPOs, policy events; tagged by sector, size, and impact where available.

SLA: refresh daily; event times in IST unless noted.

Key definitions

1D / 5D / 1M

Close-to-close change over the stated window; weekends/holidays skipped.

YTD

From last trading day of previous calendar year to last close.

Real-time

Exchange permitted latency; typically 1–15 minutes unless noted “live”.

Refresh & latency

Prices: Intraday every 1–5 minutes; stamps show last update.
Aggregates: Nightly recompute; sector weights & totals rebased daily.
Calendars: Daily 06:00–08:00 IST; ad-hoc during earnings weeks.

Architecture (high-level)

Ingest

Scheduled pull from exchanges/APIs and public filings; schema-validated CSV/JSON.

Transform

Normalize, join, enrich (FX, sectors), compute derived fields; audit trail retained.

Serve

Edge-cached JSON for widgets; rate-limited; stale-while-revalidate for resilience.

We publish methods and caveats in each widget’s tooltip or “info” panel.

FAQ

Why doesn’t my number match another site?

Different timestamp, corporate actions, or currency basis. Hover the info icon for our basis and last refresh.

Can I export the data?

We’re adding per-widget CSV soon. For syndication or commercial use, see Licensing.
